Why this dimension exists
E-E-A-T signals decide whether a model treats a claim as safe to repeat rather than something it should hedge.
Why it carries 10%
Weighted equally with answer readiness: attribution is what separates a quote from a rumour.
The rules it is scored by
Each rule is a single question the scanner asks about a page. Passing one adds its share of this dimension; failing it takes that share away. Every rule links to what it looks for and what evidence passes it.
- The homepage was retrieved over https://, rather than only over plain http://.2.0%
- Hrefs on the page include both an about-style path (about, company, team, who-we-are) and a contact-style path (contact, support) or a mailto: link.3.0%
- Authorship is signalled by any of: a Person node in parsed JSON-LD, an author property with a non-empty value in parsed JSON-LD, rel="author", or a visible byline matching "by Firstname Lastname".3.0%
- Parsed JSON-LD contains a sameAs property with a non-empty value.2.0%
What this dimension cannot tell you
A single-URL scan reads one page. It cannot see the rest of the site, it cannot see how a model behaves over time, and it cannot see whether the page is actually cited for the queries that matter. Those are the parts of the picture a score of this kind is blind to, and they are listed in full on the methodology page rather than implied here.
